CHAPTER 1:

TIm provided the class with a very interesting lecture on how to find more information for our project. He provided pivotal insights on picking out crucial concepts in the question; words that are measurable and focused. I have learnt that there are many databases available, apart from UAL library, that can provide me with resources. However, it is not easy to look for something specific that one is trying to research and this is why changing words, using synonyms, is very important to find related articles/books. At the end of the session Tim provided the whole class with book that were not necessarily related to our topic; this forced me to look at wider concepts that can be implemented in my research

• Pick out key concepts in question-mindmapping, word association (write down words that relate to key concepts)

• When searching use synonyms and change spellings, narrow terms, use different combinations

• Article plus, Google scholar (tick boxes for individual databases)

• Be broad look at wider concepts and areas-books

• Be focused -google scholar and articles
